The labs in this course are actually fun. The write-ups for the labs are time consuming so be wary of that. Dr. Cockburn does a good job teaching the course material, but buy the textbook because the textbook will enhance the concepts (even if you just skim through it, you don\'t have to read it word for word, the textbook is more for clarification and reiteration) Weekly Quizzes, worth 1% each, they aren\'t really hard, and the labs IF you put in the time and effort you will be rewarded. For the midterm and final the biggest thing with Cockburn is that you need to know the diagrams she gives, inside and out, they are incredibly important and you won\'t do well on examinations without knowing them. I wasn\'t a geography major or minor taking this course so if you are thinking about taking this course just as an elective, it\'s not overly hard, but be prepared to put in work, it\'s not a bird course.

The labs are a great mark booster usually worth 30% of your final grade. Not only are they very fun to do, they are also very practical and will enhance your learning about how land forms are made and what processes are involved. I got perfect on all labs because there are always bonus questions and marks so you'll do great if you put in the time and effort in writing the report. In terms of the lectures, they are helpful to go to if you are an auditory learner. I am a visual learner who likes to read so for my, I learnt mainly from the text. The prof does go fast, but that her style. In lectures, she gives A LOT of hints about quiz questions and future exam questions so it is in your best interest to go to class.

Course isn't overly difficult, but the quizzes and exams are difficult/unfair/trick questions. Prof tends to go off on tangents or ramble, and it's often hard tell what's important and what's not. The weekly quizzes are kind of a PITA at times, and require you to read the textbook, which I found very boring/dry. Labs are fairly easy, except for one of them which was way too much work for too little marks. The prof is "cool" and approachable, but can be kind of full of herself at times. Makes lots of jokes about herself and others as well, which is kind of entertaining for the first few weeks. Lastly, to quote her: "It's Coburn" lol
