This course was incredibly easy!! I really recommend taking with this prof. There were 2 assignments that were incredibly easy to get 100% on. If you show up to class and take down the notes it\'s very easy to do well. He also gives out a bunch of bonus marks for showing up and participating in small discussion posts during lecture. The content was interesting and the videos that we watched in class were always entertaining. Overall if you\'re looking for an easy mark booster I recommend taking this course.

Assignments are really straight forward in this course, the second one is honestly a elementary school assignment. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW DIAGRAMS! That is huge in this course and makes or breaks you on the midterm. You can easily pass this course without having to take the final because of how the evaluations are weighed. In general, I would say everything up to the midterm of the course is interesting material, everything after the midterm is really dull and the prof can\'t really do anything about it. The fact that it\'s a 3 hour night class also really makes sitting through lectures that much worse. The class is easy if you are looking for a bird course, but there are probably more interesting ones out there.

Class isn't difficult, BUT, Laura Brown is as dull and generic as her name. Lecture slowly sucks out your soul.

Laura Brown is the WORST! Most boring woman alive. Somehow made natural disasters extremely dull. Best of luck.

One of my worst experiences. Classses were late at night and long, prof was dull, information was dry. Online quizzes are usually questions that can be googled. I went to classes, payed attention and did all the assigned readings and this was still my worst mark. On the midterm and final there is an essay question and 3 long answers and a few short answers. Take it if you love to write.

some weeks were interesting others not so much (like anything i guess). There are lots of pictures in the text and slide to keep you stimulated though- especially since they are natural disasters. No research papers, make sure you go to class, especially the one right before the exam. The review is basically the questions that will be given

I had this as a night class with Prof Brown. As a professor, I found she does not give too much guidance or feedback to students; she is not easy to listen to sometimes. It is a shame since I really enjoyed the material we learned and read about!
