A requirement for Anthro majors, very difficult to get into as it is offered in Winter semester and has few spots with no restrictions to other majors. Prof was very accommodating to letting in more students though. Interesting material on what makes up language and fairly easy material to grasp. Prof goes through the text in class so easy to follow along with. Weekly quizzes that come straight out of the text material.

If you're an English major and are interested in how sounds, words, and sentences are made, then this class is perfect for you! I really enjoyed the content, and although the prof sometimes mixed up information, she usually always came out with an answer. She's really inclusive, and if you have a question, she'll stop everything to answer it. There are weekly quizzes, and so long as you have the textbook in front of you (you don't even need to BUY it; I went to the library), you'll pass with at least 80s.
