Comment :
Lab component can be a bit of a pain as you were required to pass each lab in order to pass the course, but were kind of fun at times once you figured out what you needed to do (you write Assembly programs for the Motorola 68000, with the final lab involving LEDs). Lecture theory can sometimes be a bit much to follow until you sit down with it and understand it at your own pace, but it will help you understand other computing concepts better. It's not necessarily a hard course as long as you keep up.

Found to be very tedious and frustrating - too much work for an introductory class

Comment :
Course material is esoteric at best. Understanding the theoretical material is important for people interested in programming. The practical component is very forgettable. It's a class you won't appreciate until after you've completed it.

This course I thought was not necessary for the BComp major. I dont believe that I really needed to take this course. This course was at 8:30am and you needed to go to class in order to take notes. It was difficult for me to get to class in the morning knowing that I wasn't going to really need the course in the future.
