Great course! Would recommend

I took this class online during the summer and found it pretty straightforward. I also had taken MCS 2020 (in bcomm) and i found it helped because it did introduce some mutual concepts . A lot of people say its a bird course and I can agree with that as the concepts are introductory, however in order to do well in the course you need to put in work. There are weekly discussions requiring three responses, quizzes, and four major assignments covering excel, word, powerpoint, and HTML/CSS creating your own website. If you\'re taking this as an elective and find that you aren\'t too sharp with the softwares, you\'re probably better off doing it during the summer or when you know you can put effort towards it. I found that it was extremely helpful from a technological perspective and relevant to our increasingly technological world!

Definitely a good choice for an elective. The content is pretty straightforward. It\'s pretty easy to understand but at the same time it is very time consuming, so that\'s something to keep in mind. But overall it\'s something to consider for a bird course and a course you\'re looking for to help boost up your GPA.

Took this as a DE course, and I found it to be easy. The assignments are pretty straight forward and it is easy to get perfect if you follow the rubric. Also the prof and TA\'s are always there to help you, but generally the tutorials are good enough. I would recommend the textbook, as that has additional information which the online notes do not have.

I actually really enjoyed this class! I am computer savvy and still learned a lot of different things in this course. Some assignments were harder than others but Zoe & the TA's go above and beyond to help you. Zoe even had optional in-class tutorials when an assignment was coming up, and she (along with a TA) would literally show you step by step how to complete the assignment and get an 100! That being said the exam brought my mark down (even with a cheat sheet) but it was overall very fair. I wouldn't recommend this course for anyone with an extremely busy schedule (since the assignments took forever to complete) but it is definitely a mark booster if you have the time.

I actually enjoyed this class. It was a nice break from my usual courses. The Prof and TA's were all very helpful with any questions. The text book, I thought, was helpful for quizzes and exams but not so much for assignments.

This was definitely my easiest class this semester. Be careful though! Don't be tricked into thinking it is easier than it is! I got caught a couple times doing an assignment the night before or not studying for a quiz. I should have studied harder for the final but, if you put a bit of work in, it's a good average booser.

This course is a joke. If you get less than 90, you're an absolute idiot. The assignments are not hard at all. I like to do a little bit of them everyday rather than doing the whole thing in one night; that would be overwhelming. The first one in microsoft word is simple, but making the table of contents in the way they specify was a bit challenging. The second one was easy. The HTML/CSS was apparently the most difficult, but the prof gives you examples of all the assignments, so all you need to do is view the HTML source of the example she gives you and steal those codes. She gives you practice quizzes which are like 150 questions but all the real quiz and exam questions come from there! Most of the answer are already on the INternet because the questions were taken from the instructor's manual, or you can use the textbook. I'd buy the textbook just to be safe-I haven't taken teh final yet, but from what I hear, it is pretty straight forward, just read over the practice quizzes. THe professor I had was Zhu. She does not understand a word of English-it's hilarious when you get to read her responses on the discussion board. The TA's are very helpful. The conference part is real simple, just make 15 posts and write random stuff on the report. This course is always offered as a DE.

I found this class very difficult. The assignments took an extremely long time to complete and the instructions for the assignments aren't very helpful.

I thought the course was laid out nicely, however, I think the assignments did take a lot of time to do (which is fine) but they were worth so little in the end. I would have the projects weighed more heavily than the quizzes because the assignments took more time, and were a little harder.

It's a great course for students to just learn about the various computer applications available. Textbook isn't really necessary because Zoe's lecture slides cover most of the stuff. The assignments may be a bit difficult at time but both Zoe and the TA's were very helpful in solving your problems. Definitely a great average booster.

A very straight forward class, and very easy. Everything is online except the final. Just make sure that you study for the final. It is mostly just definitions.

This course is too easy, not only are all the quizzes online, but so is the midterm! just watch out for the exam.

Very easy course, but a great way to be introduced to computer application you might not always use. The assignments do take quite a bit of time, considering how little they are worth. The quizzes, on the other hand, are a great way to boost your mark in the class. The TAs and the Prof were amazing and extremely helpful. Easily can get a high 90.

This was a decent course. There is also lots of time to get the projects done, if you take advantage of it. Overall, worth the effort.
