PSYC * 3100 – Evolutionary Psychology U (3-0) [0.50]

Evolutionary Psychology (EP) offers a Darwinian frame of reference for studying questions about human nature. After reviewing basic material on genetics and natural selection, we will examine and criticize the contribution of EP to the understanding of the various aspects of individual and social behaviour, such as altruism, logic, mate selection, health, morality, aesthetics, and the role of culture.

Worst course I've ever taken in my entire 4 years at Guelph. Incredibly boring, complex concepts were not explained clearly, mostly written midterm and final that weren't marked fairly. Regret taking this one.

Not a bad class. If you understand anything about natural selection, the midterm and final should be easy 80+s. Got kind of boring as it went on because the whole course is literally taking natural selection and applying it to a whole range of behaviours. I thought it would be more interesting than it was. Still, easy enough to do well (midterm/final are only multiple choice, and a 30% paper). Read the textbook and/or go to class and you're fine.
