Comment :
This course is not "hard". It is just difficult to deal with. The lecture notes are very comprehensive and concept based. You can't simply memorize things (although a lot of memorization is required to remember proteins and transporters, etc). The professors were not very good at lecturing which made going to class a chore, but they were friendly and willing to help. The two exams were not difficult. They were much easier than expected, but there is a lot of material covered. You get more out of the textbook than the lectures. Immunology is a very interesting subject but this course doesn't do much to stimulate interest. It is very concept based with very few application or interesting examples used to reinforce ideas. The only interesting lectures were towards the end on HIV and AIDS. The exam questions were fairly straightforward. Few were application type. The parts about gene and locus rearrangment are incredibly frustrating to understand. It shouldn't be too hard to get 80+, but it is not an enjoyable experience. Don't take it if you don't have to and if you do have to, don't be too intimidated.

The course material was really not that hard. I admit that sometimes the teaching as a little confusing, but both teachers were both very willing to help and had lots of office hours and were very responsive to emails. There were also TA run review session and Q&A every week which were a lot of help. The text book was very helpful and easy to read, and lots of exam and mid term questions were taken from questions at the end of each chapter so make sure you read them! Really not as hard a class as many of the reviewers are making it out to be, you just have to go to class and read the textbook and you'll be fine, I got a 92 without putting a huge amount of effort into this class.

Kaushik is hard to follow and doesn't relaize its many peoples first immunology course. They jumped right into teaching details without giving a good understanding of the big picture. Midterm, two small online quizes and a final. Midterm was fair but be ready to teach yourself a lot of stuff that flies over your head in lecture. Suggestion: Read the textbook, its all Kaushik teaches from and it explains it way better than he does. When studying for the (very difficult) final it all started comming together and I felt ripped off they made such interesting stuff so confusing, scattered and hard to learn in lecture.

I came very close to dropping the course before the midterm because I could not stand prof.Kaushik. He is hard to understand and jumps around through the material, making it difficult to follow the material. I taught myself the first half of the course out of the textbook, which I highly recommend buying. The material is interesting and if the prof. did not butcher it, I imagine it would be quite enjoyable. Mallard, the second prof, is much better and really gets you interested in immunology. There are a lot of details that have to be memorized and understood so this course requires a decent chunk of study time. One midterm (40%), one final (50%), two online quizzes (5% each).

Material isn't overly hard to understand, and only have a midterm and a final. Midterm was extremely easy, but the final was extremely hard, so it all worked out in the end.
