Everything said by the original poster is true. Fantastic class. Probably one of the most valuable classes of my undergrad. Great opportunity to learn about experimental design. It\'s not difficult coursework, but you are constantly doing research and reading papers for the tutorial section, so be prepared for that. You might be at a bit of a disadvantage if you 1) know nothing about plants, and 2) aren\'t familiar with a bunch of different lab techniques. Luckily you can learn all of this if you apply yourself as you go. Would definitely recommend.

This course is incredible! Manish is the sweetest and most caring prof at this school. He starts off on the first day of class saying that he is not your professor, he is your peer and we are his, and we are here to learn and teach one another. His classes are Tuesdays and then you get to choose a tutorial date in which you will have weekly presentations, which seem scary at first, but as you go through each week, you will see that they aren't so bad. This course is heavily genetics-based, so if you feel uncomfortable with the topic, just keep that in mind. There are no midterms or finals for the course, however, the workload isn't light. If you put in the effort and take the time to do all your research, you will see that it is worth it. This class is also very big on peer reviews; almost 50% of your mark will be based off what your classmates rate you in the tutorial, so just take that into consideration. I highly recommend this course, I went in with very little background on genetics and now I feel so confident about writing a proper grant proposal and conducting research.
