Comment :
This course is super interesting and the content is very very useful for anyone who wants to go into the research field. Basically, the course is a series of experimental approaches and applications that are very widely used in the MBG field. The course consists of a midterm/quiz (15% -- optional if class wants, I would recommend writing it), either a research proposal or a 20 min presentation (I did the presentation and did very well but, if you are not a good presenter the class will tear you apart, which is encouraged, so I would recommend the paper) (25%), peer review of the research proposals (these are easy but look for specifics!) (10%), and a 50% final. The final was very difficult, if you can not apply your knowledge then you will do poorly however, Dr. Yankulov is very fair and looks for marks. There is also an opportunity for an additional 5% in bonus marks that are given for good questions, answers and stumping the student presenters. Overall, a great course and professor! He is really funny and makes complicated techniques easy to understand and enjoyable to learn about.
