MBG * 2020 – Introductory Molecular Biology F,W (3-1) [0.50]

This course provides an introduction to the structure of the gene and the relationship between genes and proteins with an in depth discussion of the processes of replication, transcription, translation, regulation of gene expression, mutation and DNA repair and recombination. The experimental techniques used in molecular cloning and their applications to the biotechnology industry and the study of diseases will be discussed. Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology.

The classes are very interesting. The mid terms are not too difficult and the final is not to hard. The textbook helps but is not required

Not too bad of a course, mind you I haven't written the final yet. Sort of those stupid multiple choice questions that have "one of the above", "all if the above", etc. options (which I hate), but just read really carefully and regurgitate what the prof says and there's no reason you should fail.

The first half of the course is much easier than the second. That being said, I didn't find it too difficult to get over an 80.

FYI the typical average is 65. If you review your notes daily there is no reason you shouldnt get an 80

This course is mostly grade 12 reveiw (1st half of course). After the review, it is really interesting material, though for most people review of the material will be needed to get a good mark.

This is the single worst course I've had to take at the University of Guelph. The material is very complex for an intro course and needs to be reviewed DAILY in order to GRASP at a 70.
