Comment :
Really interesting course. First half of the course is spent reading mainly Grimm fairy tales while learning about German history. The second half is spent reading Goethe's Faust. There are participation marks for presenting assigned questions, a large group project that spans the whole semester and a take home midterm/essay. GO TO CLASS. If you go, and take notes, you'll have everything you need to do well on the midterm/final. She pretty much gives you the answers during class, which is completely discussion based. Prof. Mayer is a hard marker however. It seems like if you don't do things they same way she would have, she docks you marks. She also never provides a rubric, so it's hard to know what she's looking for.
