Comment :
Professor Smith is great - funny, interesting, and a fair/easy marker. He does put a lot of emphasis on public speaking. Grade was based on discussion participation, 1 essay, presentation of an article, and a final exam. I feel like I did okay without the textbook - he says its just for background knowledge; not required. The information itself is interesting. Covers China, Japan, India, and South Asia. Things like the Cultural Revolution, New Woman in Japan, Geisha, Footbinding, Confucianism, and Indian nationalism/colonialism.
