Using gender and ethnicity as the main categories of analysis, this course examines the history of women within one global geographical region such as Asia, South America and the Caribbean or North America. The roles women have played in political, economic and private life will be emphasized.

Comment :
I took this with prof. Racine, who is a great prof but a tough marker. She can be a little moody too, but is really informative. Her specialty is Latin America, so the course discussed Latin American women from Pre-Columbian times to the present. Marked on participation, short essay, midtem, major essay, and final. Tests were tough.
