Comment :
Fairly interesting course if you are interested in the history of science and technology (for example, Darwin and the history of the Periodic Table, though each topic is generally a single lecture or two, giving a brief overview). The textbooks were extremely boring, and did not help expand the content from lecture very much. There were two open-book midterms, 40 minutes each (2 essays each), but that was just a pilot test for this semester. Exam was a few "select an essay topic and write about it" questions, with a double-sided cheat-sheet. The assignment was not too difficult, provided you can find good sources for your topic.

Textbook is not needed, very easy course if you attend all of the classes, your mark will directly reflect the amount of classes you attend, easy online quizzes that are directly from the lectures, exam and midterm aren't hard

I LOVED this course! Prof McCook was very good at teaching it and clearly knew his stuff. One of the reasons I loved it so much was because you don't ever really learn a whole lot about all the scientific achievements in regular history courses. HIGHLY recommended!
