I LOVED this course! Offered at 8:30, but Schacker understood that we were all drowsy, but praised us for still coming in. The content is so amusing, and you'll be amazed that you can learn so much from children's books. Portion of the course is learning vocab which actually comes in HANDY when you're writing essays. Can't emphasize how much I loved this course! Definitely recommend it!

This course was an absolute delight! The only pincher is that I've only ever seen it offered at 8:30am. Even still, it's one of the only classes you'll ever WANT to attend that early in the morning. Use concrete examples and you will ALWAYS do well. I had a very good mark in this course because I attended most of the lectures and always tried to have the readings done before the class, this helped my understanding because when my fellow classmates were discussing things with the professor, I knew what was going on. Sort of a no-brainer, but there are lots of classes where I do readings after the class. This is not a difficult class so long as you go to lecture and enjoy reading children's literature. Good for those who plan to go on to teaching.

Amazing course. It was incredibly interesting to read popular children's texts from my own childhood and analyze them, you wouldn't believe the things that you never picked up on. The best part is the unit on Fairy Tales. The professor is amazing as well, I highly recommend taking this course.
