Easy course as long as you go through the textbook. Covers mainly conduction, convection and radiation heat transfer. Mass transfer is taught in one class, so course should really be called heat transfer. Easy to achieve an 80

This course is pretty boring, and not an extension of thermo, but completely different. Since this course is so textbook oriented (midterm and final, worth 85% of your grade, are open textbook) it is a good idea to just learn from your textbook instead of going to class. Take an hour or two each week and go through the unit and problem sets, this will make you learn much more effectively than sitting in class. The tutorial quizzes are okay, very similar to the example the TA does right before the quiz. The labs are marked pretty easily and aren\'t too difficult. Overall kind of boring course but the content isn\'t really too difficult.

This course is average. Open textbook midterm and exams mean that knowing your textbook well is the most important part of this course. That being said, it can be more useful to skip lectures and go through a chapter of your textbook individually. If youre lucky, questions on the tests will have a very similar example found in the textbook. The content isnt that challenging, the only issue is that there is so much of it. Tutorials are okay and can help learn concepts, an easy question is done and then another very similar question is written for the quiz. The in-lab part is boring and hard to relate to course material at times. The lab report is due at the end of the term and is marked fairly easily, do well on this for some free extra marks. Study for the final cuz you have to pass to pass the course. Overall, not a hard course but try to stay on top of the material or you will be way behind and overwhelmed.
