This course covers macroscopic thermodynamics and its applications to engineering practice. Topics include properties of pure substances and equilibrium, the First Law of thermodynamics (energy transfer and energy balance in closed and flow systems), the Second Law of thermodynamics and its applications (entropy analysis of closed and flow systems, quantification of irreversibilities and inefficiencies, quality of energy, etc.), thermodynamic cycles and exergy.

Comment :
Course is easy up to the midterm (30%). The labs are boring but easily marked. The quizzes are easily marked as well. Make sure to do well on the first portions of the course because the final worth 50% will likely bring your mark down as the content gets harder.

Make sure you do well on your midterms and quizzes because the final will be awful. Don't bother going to class, he doesn't really cover much. It's an alright course until after the midterms and then its just so complicated and difficult to understand. You'll think you know stuff because you'll do well on the midterms but in reality you'll know nothing on the final.
