I never went to class and just read the textbook and i got a 95. Not hard content at all, just have to put in the time to read. I am a science student with absolutely no business/econ background and I found the material extremely easy and straight forward.

Good course. Fairly easy if you have taken economics before but hard if you havent. Slg sessions help a lot, they simplify things. textbook was helpful

Don't expect to learn anything by going to class. Read the text book, do the online quizzes and you'll do fine. I have a genuine interest in Economics and even I had a hard time paying attention/staying awake in class. I love Guelph, but the econ department needs to step it up!

Did the student enjoy the professor? No
Professor : Livernois

Comment :
As a science student with no knowledge of business or economics, this class was a nightmare. Livernois's lectures were useless (we had to watch video lectures on our own time and then class time was spent on pointless discussions). The microeconomics textbook is definitely necessary but the Cocktail Party Econ book is a waste of money and time. Don't take this class unless you have to.

This is a difficult course, you need to work and stay on top of things to get a good mark, otherwise the material is extremely interesting

WORST COURSE EVER TAKEN AT UOFG! WOULDN'T EVEN RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO MY WORST ENEMY! DONT EVER TAKE IT UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO! READ/MEMORIZE THE TEXTBOOK FRONT TO BACK. ATTEND ALL LECTURES. DONT FALL BEHIND. ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. IF YOU ARE FAILING THE COURSE AT AROUND 4OTH CLASS DAY. Drop The Course. I REPEAT! DONT STAY IN IT HOPING YOU WILL PASS, BECAUSE IT ONLY GETS HARDER AND YOU WILL FAIL AND DROP YOUR GPA. That's All. GOOD LUCK!

Not a bad course. I found that going to class was useless unless you want a few questions answered. Pretty easy to do well if you read the textbook.

This course may be difficult if you have not taken any econ courses before. There are two midterms and the prof only teaches once a week the rest are online lectures that he posts. The textbook is easy to read and there are weekly homework assignments for all the chapters covered.

this class is ok, not that hard. The professor only teaches for half the time, and expects you to watch videos he made several years ago. why do i pay tuition to watch recycled videos, and only have half the lectures??? seems like a scam

If you are new to econ and have heard bad things don't worry. Thh course is structured really well and the textbook is really easy to follow. There are SLG sessions also to help you out. Stay on top of your readings and go through the practice questions and you will be fine. Livernois online format was great for note taking. Definitely not an easy first year course but not to freak out about.

This is the easiest econ course I have taken so far and I am in third year. This may mislead you because the other course are more difficult.

Definitely not an enjoyable class. It can be extremely easy for those with economics/data management experience, but can be very difficult for those who have not taken something similar before. That being said, if you are in this course it is probably because it is required, so just stick it out and you will be relieved when it is over.
