Professor Walsh legitimately is the best professor I\'ve ever had. The way he lectures is like he is telling a kick ass story and you don\'t want it to end. The material you learn, if you have any sort of shred of interest in Greek Mythology, take this course! The grading is split up into a 25% midterm, 25% Research Paper and a 50% Final. Use the website he recommends, it helps a lot when it comes to studying! The research paper is the hardest thing about this course. It requires you to put in a good amount of effort to get a decent mark. If you don\'t mind writing one paper, and you have any sort of interest in Greek Mythology, doesn\'t matter what major you are in, I highly recommend you take this course!

Amazing professor! Amazing material! A must take for anyone that has the slightest interest in the subject. Like other classic courses, it is very difficult to get high marks (80+). Overall, excellent addition to any major. And John Walsh still stands as my favourite professor to this day.

Excellent class, prof was amazing. This course looks at a large majority of Greek myths and the gods/goddesses and heroes. Overall a very interesting course. Lectures consisted of the telling of the myth with interpretations and meanings thrown in. Definitely need to go to class as lecture slides consisted of pictures and very few words, so need to make note of what the prof is saying. Buy the textbook as midterm and final questions are based directly from the text and its specific details of the myths. Check out the textbook website for practice quizzes, definitely worth taking a look at.

Really interesting class: fascinating content, informative textbook, amazing/entertaining prof(at least if you have prof. Walsh), crap TAs, F***ING ANNOYING CLASSMATES. Lectures will be composed of prof. Walsh cheerily telling wondrous tales form old and everyone will be at the edge of there seats in excitement. And then 15 f***ing hipsters in the front row will interrupt class after ten minutes with dumb ass questions and take up the remaining class time telling retarded stories about what they watched on TV last night or how this myth has to do with feminism and men suck and the world needs to change or worst of all they will begin to explain to Prof. Walsh the real meaning behind the myth even though he has a freaking doctorate in the subject and knows far more than any of them. Anyways its such a good course too bad f***ing hipsters prevent you from learning anything. Also be prepared to get mass emails from retards several times a week because they missed class due to "health reasons".

Very interesting material, but it all depends on the prof you get as to how it is taught. Unfortunately the prof I had (who was AMAZING) passed away last year. But if the other profs teach it like she did, it can be awesome. If you had to do Greek/Roman mythology in high school English and wished you could have gone more in depth into the topics, this is the course for you!
