Is the textbook recommended by the student? No
Did the student enjoy the professor? Yes
Professor : Caruso

Comment :
Concepts presented in class were easy enough to undestand, and Caruso does a good job making sure people get it (Some classes are spent doing practice questions only). Midterm and final were not bad at all. The 2 papers for the course make up a large part of your mark, and are marked fairly hard. Make sure to get them done sooner than later and follow the rubric closely!

I took this as a DE course, which consists of 5 quizzes, 5 tutorial discussions, 4 assignments, and a final exam. The quizzes were easy marks thanks to unlimited attempts, the tutorials are mostly participation marks as long as you make the effort to post and reply, and the assignments were time consuming but had very clear instructions so I ended up doing quite well on them. I would recommend buying the main textbook, but there is a supplementary required textbook you\'re supposed to purchase online for about 30 dollars which I wouldn\'t recommend since I got by without it if you\'re looking to save $30. I wouldn\'t really recommend this course as an elective since it was time consuming and I felt it had a lot of content for a 0.5 credit course, but as a required course, if you set time aside to work on the content and assignments you can end up with a good mark. Based on the comments below, I would definitely recommend taking this online rather than in class, since the online version was very organized with a very engaging and friendly professor.

So I had Caruso as a prof, she was really nice and the content itself was really easy to grasp. Lectures were pointless to go to because they were so boring but the clicker questions in class are worth marks so you have to end up going anyways. The assignments are marked fairly hard but if you work ahead and know what you are doing, they aren't that bad. The midterm was incredibly easy as well. Overall, pretty easy course to get good marks on

By far one of the most boring lectures I've ever attended. Midterm and final were easy but the assignments were a lot harder than what is expected. Spend more time and get the assignments done in advance because they mark them really hard. Overall, it is mainly common sense, I didn't really learn anything new.

Easy, but incredibly dull. The whole class is disorganized, the TAs and prof tend to headbutt with each other frequently and it just leads to disorder. It's been an incredibly frustrating semester, I know a lot of people expressed their opinions in the pointless tutorials. Mosser has the most irritating voice out there, it was very difficult to get through the lectures. I'm a bio major, and I would not recommend this course AT ALL if you don't have to take it.

All other comments said it pretty well. Prof. Mosser is pretty dull and the content is boring to begin with. Assignments were fairly easy and midterm was pretty fair. Lecture is a chore to get through and notes provided leave a lot to be desired. Not hard to get a good mark, but there are more interesting courses out there if thats all you're after.

Dr. Mosser is a terrible professor who is very disorganized. The midterm was longest midterm I have ever written and this course is lowering my average by far. The assignments are an easy mark. The tutorials are completely useless and boring. The research assignment is pretty easy and you work in a group. Overall, I would not recommend this course it is very boring and the TA's are more informant than the prof, bad sign.

lectures are boring if you have Mossener and their content is very similar to the readings in the text book, a lot of material gets covered but its fairly easy, assignments are essay too, like said bellow take it if you have to but its kinda boring, with nothing new and exciting to be learnt, lectures suck, and tedious labs

If it's with Mossner (spelling?) I really really really WOULD NOT recommend it. Don't take it unless you have to. The class is pretty much completely based on graphs that she posts in class, she always seems super nervous and unsure about what she's saying (she says umm a lot). If you really enjoy a strong professor, probably not the class for you. That being said, 15% of your mark is based on 3 really easy assignments, 15% was based on the midterm. She gives immunity questions out so if you answer a question right in class you can use the immunity on your midterm, to protect you from getting a question wrong on a midterm or final multiple choice question so that's nice. Overall, the material is fairly interesting.. with a good professor I'm sure it would be great. I just can't stand her lectures ... The TA's are phenomenal and seem to know more about the material, so utilize them when it comes to material questions because they are just wonderful.

I took it as a DE course. The course isn't too bad. The assignments aren't difficult but they do require work. As a summer course it wasn't too tedious.

Not recommended I really dislike this course.. and I'm a biology major It could just be the prof we have right now, she is extremely dull but then again that could just be the coarse material. The tutorials are POINTLESS and a waste of time. Take it if you have to, but there are lots of better courses offered at Guelph.
