ANTH * 2160 – Social Anthropology W (3-0) [0.50]

This course will cover basic concepts that contribute to various anthropological approaches to the study of culture and society, such as the case study method and participant observation. The development of theory and methods will be examined through reading selected classic and contemporary ethnographies.

Comment :
Extremely hard to get through a class (especially if it's at night)-- teacher CONSTANTLY gets off topic. A lot of reading required for this course and an 8-10 page essay-- wouldn't recommend taking it unless it's required.

Interesting course, currently taking it in a night class which is a bit brutal. Course consists of midterm, term paper, and final. Great elective course.

Comment :
I have Rose this semester and she's okay. If you like anthro and listening to stories, you will like it. If you don't like people that dont stay on subject, you wont like Rose. The course itself is based on fairly interesting ethnographies, but you must read them or at least have a good understanding of the themes in them to do well in the course. I'm enjoying myself
