A very interesting course, but I agree w/ the other posters - do NOT do it if you don't have to. I did pretty well in the course, but it takes A LOT of time and effort which is very hard to give especially when you're a science student taking a full course load. I'm not a zoology/animal bio student and I had to take this course b/c I followed an old course calendar, so I didn't particularly enjoy the references to all the animals throughout the course although some of it did supplement. Overall, if you're REALLY interested in developmental bio and willing to give a significant amount of time to this course, take it. If not, don't bother.

So difficult. Don't take it unless you absolutely have too. There is so much material but as long as your able to keep on top of it you should be fine. The labs compliment the course well and are interesting.

Really interesting course but definitely not easy. Going to lecture is an absolute must if you want to do well. Try to ignore the tangents on complicated unrelated topics because they are not tested and not so easy to understand especially at 8:30 in the morning. Labs were long and sometimes tedious but interesting overall. Lots to learn here!

The labs were really, really helpful in understanding the material. GO TO LABS! There's A LOT of stuff to know. Prof Danzmann is super smart, he tends to go on and on about more advanced topics and lectures are a bit difficult to follow (especially at 8:30am). It was interesting, but I learned the most from labs.
